Objective One

OBJECTIVE ONE

What - To increase and enhance employment opportunities for young people aged 16 - 18 who are not engaged in education, employment or training. (NEET)

Why - Total of individuals within this category is a predictor of later unemployment, low income, depression, poor mental health and involvement in crime.

How - Establish a 'value added' apprenticeship scheme that prioritises these young people not currently in education, employment or training to achieve the nationally recognised qualification NVQ2 within 12 months. This will be delivered across Perkins Family's three venues - Perkins Restaurant, The Carriage Hall and Escabeche. Each qualified apprentice will receive a graduation certificate from Perkins Family providing them with a real opportunity and bridge to gain employment.

Who - Apprentices will be recruited through agencies including Positive Futures, Youth Services, Youth Offending Programme and Nottinghamshire County Council (young people in care or leaving care) in Partnership with Rushcliffe Community Partnership.
